“We have about 10 percent left to go”- James Cameron verifies the filming of Avatar 2 is completed in an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger

James Cameron confirmed the wrap up of the shoot of Avatar 2 in an interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger on his YouTube channel

The most awaited project has finally wrapped up. Yes! James Cameron the director of classic movies like Titanic and Avatar officially declared that the filming of Avatar 2 is all accomplished.

The movie is expected to hit screens on December 16, 2022. In a virtual interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the 2020 Austria World Summit, Cameron said-

“Well, COVID hit us like it hit everybody. We lost about four and a half months of production. As a result of that, we’ve rolled around one more full year for a release in December of 2022. That’s been announced already. Now that doesn’t mean I have an extra year to finish the film, because
the day we deliver Avatar 2 we’ll just start working on finishing Avatar 3.”

He mentioned that ten percent of work only is left to go and after the movie will release 95 percent work of Avatar 3 would be finished. Though he said he is a man who believes in mystery and a great reveal and can’t unveil anything about the storyline. The audience is waiting for this sci-fi to be out for a decade. The filming is done in New Zealand and the viewers will experience a journey underwater. The characters Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana)are together now and will explore the regions of Pandora. Kate Winslet is back again with Cameron for this sequel of Avatar released in 2009.

This franchise having 5 parts is a dream project of Cameron and he wants to put all his efforts and efficiency in this. The sequel took such a long time because no technological advancement was there, that could have added unbelievable spices to it. But finally, the wait is over for Avatar 2 and the release of it will clear the path for the upcoming sequels to be out.

The expected release dates of the James Cameron Avatar sequels are –

Avatar 3- 21 December 2023
Avatar 4- 20 December 2024
Avatar 5 -19 December 2025
