Virat Kohli has got inspired by his actress wife Anushka Sharma to comfort the animals by establishing shelter homes for them. He declared this on World Stray Animals Day.
Anushka Sharma and husband Virat Kohli are enjoying the most beautiful phase of their life. Yes, their beautiful daughter Vamika who was born on 11 January has brought the couple adorable happiness in the form of parenthood.
Well, it seems the handsome husband is walking on the steps of his wife to do some social work. Yes, we know that Sharma is already involved with NGOs and PETA to support the indigent and Kohli has stepped in it.
She does a lot. From walking on the ramp for Shabana Azmi’s Mijwan Welfare Society to supporting the education of young girls under NDTV’s ‘Our Girls Our Pride’.
However, today on the occasion of World Stray Animals Day, the cricketer has announced that Virat Kohli Foundation will set up two animal shelters to serve the needy animals and also thanked the actress for motivating him.
The animal shelters will be constructed on the outskirts of the dream city Mumbai. They will be established in Malad and Boisar and Awaaz will be running them.
The shelter that will be built at Malad will serve as a rehab center for dogs and cats mainly. It will also be providing medical help to those animals who are hurt and injured.
Talking about another protection site based at Boisar will be a permanent location for paralyzed and seat animals. Plus, those who are suffering from major diseases.
Vivaldis Animal Health and Awaaz-Voice of Stray Animals will be working together with the captain of the Indian Cricket Team in this animal welfare project.
The former is a leading animal health care company that has been founded by Kunal Khanna who is current CEO of it. Meanwhile, Awaaz is a local Mumbai-based NGO that works to safeguard stray animals.
World Stray Animal Day is celebrated on April 4 of every year. There are a number of animals that live a life of suffering. They suffer harsh cold and heat as nobody is there for them to take care of.
So, let’s praise this wonderful step by the couple and pledge to help stray animals in whatever way we can. If not full but some sort of time we can give to those who are working for such causes.
