Tahira Kashyap feels scars are not to be hidden: composes wonderful lines on World Cancer Day

Tahira Kashyap is all enthusiastic to recite her poem on early breast cancer detection on this World Cancer Day. Let’s celebrate along with the flaws.

4 February, today is World Cancer Day. This year besides prevention, detection, and reduction of the stigma the day marks ‘I Am and I Will’ forte.

Following, producer and author Tahira Kashyap who herself has combated with the deadly condition is raising awareness among the millennials about timely detection of it through her poetry.

Posting the recitation done by her she took the audience to Instagram to unveil the beautiful wordings she has penned down. The fans are hats off to her for giving such significant feels.

Kashyap captioned the IGTV as “This is something I had experienced and written about and still mean every word of it! Joining this year’s theme of I AM AND I WILL”.

“I urge you all to take notice of this day, to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection, to remove any stigma associated with it and to celebrate life along with it’s many scars💕” she added.

The powerful lady was earlier diagnosed with stage 1A breast cancer but unlike other people, she never spoke of it in a hushed voice rather she has always been open about this. Be it her chemotherapy sessions or the overcoming ways she has always been clear.

The initial lines of her poem says “Some scars are deep some within. Some are deep some hidden. The thing about scars is, it reminds you of the past, the moments of suffering that you thought would forever last. But there are more these goddamn scars. They’re secrets in far away, just like stars”.

The filmmaker has cited that the battle is not easy it is tough to conquer because it is internal. But we all have the might in ourselves to fight against it and that we shouldn’t hide our scars they are to be shown like our bright smiles.

However, the writer-director is currently involved in the initiative Indian Women Rising to support women filmmakers. Recently, the trailer of the short film ‘Bittu’ was out and it is being praised worldwide.

So, let’s work to build a peaceful world along with spreading awareness among the citizens regarding cancer.
