Pagglait is a surprise that kept us in suspense since its trailer was released. However, it is out now and we can enjoy the supremely talented cast including Sanya Malhotra.
Can you call the ladies ‘abla’ now? Obviously not, most of you will reply they are earning and not taking any negativity in the society. Adding to this, we know movies have changed the perspectives of women losing all their interests after they face failures in marriages.
Taking examples, we have seen Asin in Salman Khan starrer ‘Ready’ after she runs from her wedding to live her own life. Or recall Kangana Ranaut from Queen enjoying the foreign elements after her fiance disagrees to marry her.
The image of women has been altered by the cinema. Well, we can see them grooving in the clubs or as the CEO’s of the banks. They can be found anywhere. That can be called as empowerment.
However, something unique has been portrayed by Sanya Malhotra in the dark comedy Pagglait. And we seriously can’t get enough of her blemish replies and pointed dialogues.
The movie starts with the death of a man and his wife telling her friend how she is feeling. Well, we get amused when she replies that she is feeling nothing and how she wants to drink Pepsi rather than pouring over her husbands death.
Directed by Umesh Bist, the story unfolds that when women become wise everyone thinks they have gone stupid. It shows how a young lady Sandhya explores herself and life after his husband’s sudden death.
Having an ensemble talented cast like Sheeba Chaddha and Ashutosh Rana as parents or Raghubir Yadav as the anxious man of the family is all fantastic.
Though, these veterans are always worth it. Plus, Rajesh Tailang and Asif Khan have their own essence. Nothing can match the expressions and naive but amazing gestures.
However, someone notable is none other than Four More Shots Please actor Sayani Gupta. This autonomous and powerful female inspires the lead character in every other way. The two shares similarity when it comes to choosing.
Dadi suffering from Alzheimer, Sandhya a cheerful widow without worries, and Tayaaji along with the humor are surely a must-watch.
So, do not wait for us to give more spoilers but go and watch it. The film is streaming on Netflix from the 26th of March.
