‘Kashmir Ki Kali’ Sharmila Tagore uncovers her secrets and bestows us life lessons too

  1. Change in roles of women

Referring to earlier times, she says female actors didn’t use to get powerful roles. Today the things have changed, thank God she added. At that time heroes, even villains were presumed great.

Well, Tagore mentions the drama Bombay Begums. And implies that scenarios have shifted now. Because we know the actresses are offered substantial roles and even they are alone capable making the films a success today.

2. About ‘Devi’

Devi (1960) was directed by ace director Satyajit Ray. Also starring Soumitra Chatterjee the film brings out religious dogmatism.

In the 60s these types of topics were not boosted. And the movie ended up being a box office failure. However, not only this but people protested against this.

Well, the protagonist of the venture Sharmila Ji told that the makers struggled hard to convince the people. They illustrated it is against orthodoxy Hinduism and not Hinduism.

3. Relation with Tiger Pataudi

The Amanush actress has unveiled that cricket always fascinated her Bengali family. Well, her husband Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was a ‘true gentleman” and she trusted him.

They married in 1968 and it was Nawab Pataudi’s sense of humor that flattered the actress. Meanwhile, she added hilariously that nobody laughed at his jokes as he had a British accent. Plus, he laughs at the jokes himself.
